Box ship on-time reliability falls from 64pc to 63pc, says SeaIntel
Dec.20--CONTAINER carrier on-time reliability fell from 64 per cent in October to 63 per cent in November, according to SeaIntel Maritime.

Maersk Line regained if first place standing at 75 per cent followed Hamburg Sud at 74 per cent in its survey of 20 carriers.

SeaIntel has commenced measuring reliability on an hourly basis for carriers providing schedules and actual arrivals, starting with Maersk, Hamburg Sud, NYK, Yang Ming, OOCL, Wan Hai and Hanjin, reported American Shipper. SeaIntel has tracked 35,000 ships since July with 4,000 arrivals measured by the hour.

"We find Maersk Line to be the most reliable carrier with 88 per cent on time within plus or minus 24 hours and Hamburg Sud is the number two performer with 86 per cent on time within plus or minus 24 hours," SeaIntel said.

Transpacific eastbound, Maersk was best at 95 per cent on time within the three-day range, while Hanjin was second best at 82 per cent. Asia-north Europe, Maersk was again best at 95 per cent while NYK and OOCL were second best at 75 per cent.
